Jenny Lane
Welcome, and thank you for visiting. My name is Jenny Lane, and I am a Mama Rising Facilitator and Matrescence Coach, providing guidance and support to women as they prepare for motherhood, journey through pregnancy and early parenting, and continue to navigate the evolving experience of motherhood at every stage.

Hi, I’m Jenny — a Mama Rising Facilitator, Matrescence Coach, and proud mother of two.
My journey into motherhood changed everything I thought I knew about myself. Like so many women, I was unprepared for the deep identity shift that came with becoming a mother. I loved my children fiercely, yet I often found myself wondering where I had gone in the process. I felt lost between who I used to be and who I was becoming.
That experience led me to discover Matrescence — the process of becoming a mother — and it changed my life. Understanding the physical, emotional, and psychological transformation of motherhood gave me the compassion and clarity I needed to rebuild my sense of self.
Now, as a certified Mama Rising Facilitator and Matrescence Coach, I’m passionate about guiding women through this same journey of self-discovery and empowerment. I support women at every stage — from those preparing to step into motherhood, to those already in the thick of it — helping them understand what’s really happening beneath the surface and how to reconnect with who they are becoming.
My mission is simple: to empower women to embrace the shift to motherhood with awareness, grace, and strength — to understand that they’re not “losing” themselves, but transforming into a new version of who they are meant to be.
Because when a mother understands herself, she changes the way she moves through the world — and that changes everything.

Motherhood is a time of immense change, much like adolescence. Whether you are preparing for this transition or are already in the midst of it, coaching provides a safe space to pause and reflect. Here are some common themes we can navigate together:
Navigating loss of identity
Feelings of overwhelm and uncertainty
Understanding emotional & physical shifts
Reconnecting with your sense of self
Processing the transition (Matrescence)
Building healthy boundaries
Relationship changes and dynamics
Finding work-life balance & purpose
Confidence in your new chapter
Preparing for motherhood (Pre-natal)

Matrescence is the word that describes the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual transformation a woman experiences as she becomes a mother. Much like adolescence, it’s a time of immense change and growth — yet it’s often misunderstood, overlooked, or dismissed in our culture. I support women through this profound transition.

Through compassionate coaching and evidence-based tools, I help women make sense of this transformation. My work is about creating a safe, nurturing space where you can pause, reflect, and reconnect. Together, we explore the shifts in identity, relationships, values, and purpose that motherhood brings.

This work isn’t about “fixing” you — it’s about seeing yourself more clearly. I help you navigate uncertainty, reclaim confidence, and reconnect with your identity beyond expectations and labels. When mothers rise, the world around them rises too.

My coaching sessions offer a safe space for you to be held, seen, and guided as you move through the transitions of motherhood. Each session is an invitation to slow down, realign, and reconnect to yourself beneath the noise of everyday life.
Sessions can be held online or in person, depending on what feels most comfortable for you. We’ll discuss your preferences and find what best suits your needs.

How is coaching different from therapy?
While therapy often focuses on healing past wounds or clinical concerns, Matrescence coaching focuses on self-awareness, identity, and personal growth, helping you embrace who you are becoming as a mother.
Absolutely. All sessions are completely confidential. You’ll have a safe, non-judgmental space to speak freely.
Coaching may be right if you’re navigating change, uncertainty, or identity shifts in motherhood — or if you want to approach this stage of life with more self-awareness and confidence. You don’t have to be struggling to benefit from coaching.
A: Pregnancy is the very beginning of your journey into motherhood, and it brings more than just physical changes — it’s the start of a profound emotional and psychological transformation called Matrescence. Coaching can help you understand the shifts ahead, explore how your sense of self may evolve, and prepare for your new role with confidence. It’s a supportive space to reflect, process your hopes and fears, and build strategies to navigate relationships, boundaries, and identity before your baby arrives.
A: Absolutely! The age of your children doesn’t matter. Matrescence is about the ongoing journey of motherhood and how it shapes your identity, relationships, and sense of self — and that process continues long after the early years. A: Definitely! Returning to work after having children can bring big changes to your identity, routines, and sense of balance. Matrescence coaching can help you navigate this transition with clarity and confidence, explore how your role as a mother intersects with your professional life, and create strategies to feel grounded, supported, and aligned with your values.
A: Yes! Matrescence coaching isn’t just about early motherhood — it’s about understanding the ongoing shifts in identity, priorities, and relationships that come with being a mother. In the working world, coaching can help you navigate career transitions, set boundaries, communicate your needs, and integrate your professional and personal identities in a way that feels balanced and authentic.
A: Antenatal classes focus primarily on the physical and practical aspects of pregnancy, birth, and early baby care. Matrescence coaching, on the other hand, focuses on the emotional, psychological, and identity shifts of becoming a mother. It helps you understand who you are becoming, navigate changes in relationships and self-perception, and build confidence and resilience for the journey ahead — both before and after your baby arrives.
